Al-Sallabi gives Hasan's birth as the middle of Ramadan in the third year after the Hijra, notes other reports, and says he prefers the fourth year in his own sira; Ali first named him Harb, and the Prophet ﷺ renamed him Hasan; for the aqiqa, silver equal to the weight of the infant's hair was given in charity instead of sacrifice (p. 86).

The hadith of the cloak and the verse of purification of the household

Aisha's report of the cloak gathering Ali, Fatima, Hasan and Husayn is cited by al-Sallabi as the context of the purification verse; in his reading the address is to the Prophet's wives, but the masculine pronoun makes the four especially included (pp. 90-91).
