Overview
In 400 al-Hakim, lord of Egypt, sent a man bearing authorizations for the Hasanids and Husaynids — increasing them — ordering him to open the house of Ja'far b. Muhammad al-Sadiq at Medina with their leave; no one had touched that house since Ja'far's death. From it were carried to Egypt his mushaf, a wood-and-iron bucket, a wicker shield, a spear and a bed; al-Hakim returned the bed to them and kept the rest, claiming a better right to it 1.
