Commanders: خوارزم شاه علاء الدين محمد
Summary
In 604 AH Khwarazm-shah Muhammad ibn Takish marched with his armies and headed for the Khitai. The Muslims were defeated, and a group of them was taken captive, among them the sultan himself, and the land was thrown into confusion. A prince was taken captive with him, and Khwarazm-shah pretended that he was his mamluk. The prince sent a letter to his people asking them to ransom him, and he was freed by this trick. Then the Khitai said to the prince, "Your sultan has been lost." He replied, "Do you not know him?" The Khitai said, "He is the one I told you was my mamluk" 1.
