Overview
In 968 Jankiz Khan came to Sirt, burned its houses, ruined it, slaughtered widely and claimed spoils; its lord Khudawand Khan was killed on Tuesday the last of Dhu'l-Qa'da at Jalanjan — a great amir of high station, fine character, comely, generous, beloved of the people, a convener of scholars, old in leadership, in whose days Sirt was a refuge for the learned 1.
