    Summary

Abror Muxtor Aliy is an Uzbek Islamic blogger and preacher whose real name is Abror Abduazimov; he is Uzbekistan's most prominent independent online preacher. His YouTube channel counted about 1,100,000 subscribers by vidIQ's count read on 4 November 2026 — a dated platform figure, not a museum-verified fact. 1 The US Department of State's 2022 International Religious Freedom report names him among the country's "popular Islamic bloggers". 2

    Early life and education

Biographical profiles circulated with his lecture app give his birth as 22 July 1976 in Karkidon village, Chust district, Namangan region, while a mirrored encyclopedia text gives a conflicting 22 March 1976; the day is therefore recorded as debated, with the year and region agreed. 3 He finished school in 1992 and studied at madrasas in Andijan — the Abdussalom Maxdum madrasa and then the Sayyid Muhyiddin Maxdum madrasa — at the Mulla Qirg'iz madrasa in Namangan (1998–2000), and at the Tashkent Islamic Institute named after Imam al-Bukhari (2000–2008), later taking a master's degree in journalism at the Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan. 3

    Career and posts

Aliy worked as an imam-khatib and teacher, took third place in the 2008 republican qurrāʾ competition in the mujawwid category, and taught Qur'an and tajwid. 3 Biographical profiles present him as a chief researcher in the public relations department of the Center for Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan and deputy head of the Qur'an and Tajweed teaching department of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan. 3 In September 2022 the authorities dismissed him from two government positions in the country's Islamic academy and muftiate, as the US State Department's report records. 2

    His channels and online work

His YouTube channel began on 10 August 2017 and by 4 November 2026 carried 5,409 videos and about 169.6 million views by vidIQ's count; it is his own channel, publishing his Uzbek-language lessons and lectures. 1 In 2022 the State Department estimated his audience at approximately half a million followers across dozens of channels on several social media outlets. 2 His audio lectures also circulate through a mobile app published under his name. 3

    Translations

Alongside teaching, Aliy worked as a translator: he rendered Izzuddin Bayyanuni's work on the rulings of purity and prayer into Uzbek and took part in the team that translated the "Oltin silsila" (Golden Chain) hadith collection. 3

    Positions and criticism

This section presents positions reported in the sources; they are not the museum's verdict. The US State Department's 2022 report relays human rights activists' report of an increase in anti-Christian, antisemitic, anti-Western and misogynist content on the social media channels of popular Islamic bloggers such as Abror Muxtor Aliy. 2 His dismissal from the two government positions in September 2022 came in the context of this official and international attention to his channels. 2

    Influence and audience

Aliy's audience is chiefly Uzbekistan's Uzbek-speaking public, and by dated platform measures his channel is among the country's largest religious channels: about 1.1 million subscribers in November 2026, after a US government report had estimated his combined following across his channels at about half a million in 2022. 1 2
