Career

Baba Beg was an Ozbek chief of the Keneges family, and until 1870 prince of Shahrisabz. When that town was conquered by the Russians, he fled with a small body of his loyal followers. He was finally seized in Ferghana and obliged to reside at Tashkent. In 1875 he entered Russian military service and took part in the campaign against Khokand. He died at Tashkent about 1898. 1
