Summary
Hanan Attaki (full name Tengku Hanan Attaki) is an Indonesian preacher and Qur'an reciter, born in Banda Aceh in 1981. In 2015 he founded the Pemuda Hijrah movement — known as Shift — in Bandung, a youth-oriented dawah community combining lectures with sports and social activities, and he is known for short lectures that circulate widely on social media and for an environmental project, the RAHEELA PROJECT. 1
Early life and education
Hanan Attaki was born in Banda Aceh; the Indonesian article's lead text dates his birth to 31 December 1981, while its infobox gives 12 July 1981 — the lead is followed here and the conflict recorded. He studied at the Ruhul Islam Anak Bangsa pesantren in Aceh Besar, graduating in 2000, then entered the Faculty of Ushuluddin at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, in the tafsir and qira'at department, taking his licence degree in 2004. In Cairo in 2005 he won first place for best reciter in Fajar TV's "Duta Tarbiyah" contest, and his voice was recorded for the call to prayer on several Indonesian television stations. 1
Beginnings and career
After graduating and marrying, Attaki moved to Bandung, where he taught at schools and pesantrens and volunteered in the Salman Mosque community at the Bandung Institute of Technology. In March 2015 he founded Pemuda Hijrah (Youth Hijrah), known as Shift, a youth community that pairs lectures with sports and social activities; his short lectures spread widely through it. On 11 May 2023 he took the baiat joining Nahdlatul Ulama before its East Java chairman, K.H. Marzuki Mustamar. 1
Projects and initiatives
Alongside Shift, Attaki leads the RAHEELA PROJECT, an Islamic environmental community running environmental-protection and community-service activities under a dawah banner. 1
Reach
His YouTube channel had about 2.84 million subscribers by vidIQ's count read on 2 November 2026, and his Instagram account 10.6 million followers — dated platform figures, not facts verified by the museum. 1
