    Summary

Shihab al-Din al-Milkawi, the most learned of Damascus's qadis and one of its esteemed imam-scholars. Al-Zuhri said: no one in the city took the sciences in their proper form except him; he was sought for fatwas from every region. He leaned strongly toward Ibn Taymiyya and held many of his positions sound; there was sharpness in him and he had a squeamishness toward people. He came away from Timur's calamity ailing and weak of body, and died. 1

the Cave of Qasyun (Jibril's Cave)

The mosque raised inside the cave of Mount Qasyun by Abu al-Faraj Muhammad ibn Abd Allah ibn al-Mu'allim beginning in 370, after a dream in which Jibril bade him build a mosque where God's name would be remembered — he called it Jibril's Cave; a broad prayer-hall floored in white marble, its columns all marble, never empty of the pious at remembrance.
