Summary
Yazid ibn Haram, a man of the earliest community counted by the biographers among those who witnessed Badr; Ibn Hibban reports that he was killed there 1.
His entry in al-Isaba
His material in the sira books
The Isaba entry does not give his full lineage; what Ibn Hajar transmits comes from the maghazi and tabaqat works: Musa ibn Uqba and Ibn Ishaq list him among the men of Badr, and Ibn Hibban's report pictures him fighting there after casting aside the dates in his hand, until he was killed 1.
For younger visitors
Yazid ibn Haram was one of the men of Badr who were killed in it; the biographical books say he threw away the dates in his hand so that he could fight until he fell.
Notes for researchers
- Al-Isaba fi tamyiz al-sahaba, entry 9328 (scan 20200217, p. 1586).
- The entry is short and gives no full lineage; distinguishing him from homonymous men rests on the Isaba's own ordering.
- Ibn Hibban's phrase "he threw down dates in his hand" is transmitted as it stands in the scan.
