Overview

Nasibin is one of the cities of al-Jazira. The book Futuh al-Buldan mentions that Iyad ibn Ghanm conquered it after fighting, on terms like the peace of al-Ruha. Then after it he conquered Tur Abdin, the fortress of Mardin, Dara, Qurra and Badhbadhi on similar terms. 1

Scorpions

In the same book, its governor complained to Mu'awiya, in the days of Uthman, that a group of Muslims had been stung by scorpions. Mu'awiya ordered him to assign to the people of each quarter of the city a set number of scorpions each night, which they would bring to him, and he would order them killed. 1
