Summary
Islamway (Tariq al-Islam) is an Islamic website known for its Islamic audio, with sections for fatwas, articles, books, educational animations and a women's corner. 1
Beginnings
It was begun by two people around the end of 1998, and its team, the site says, has since grown to more than 150 volunteers. 1 Its earliest capture in the Internet Archive is dated 12 December 1998, on the domain islamway.com, titled "The Islamway Radio": English and Arabic pages with about fifty suras in the voices of well-known reciters, Islamic lectures, a prayer page with pictures and sound, and a library under construction. 2
Its method, as it states it
The site says it holds to the evidence of the Qur'an and the Sunna, rejects partisanship for any party, group or sect, is open to all Islamic currents on condition of spreading the truth, calls for the unity of the umma and against division among preachers and Islamic movements, and aims to raise a generation, spread religious knowledge and make Muslim causes known. 1
Sections and figures
By the Arabic article's 2023 reading of the site, it holds 96,648 sermons, lessons and lectures by 794 scholars and preachers; 35,917 Qur'an recitations by 351 reciters in various riwayat, including recordings from the two Holy Mosques and Egyptian radio; 569 nasheed albums with 5,425 nasheeds; 30,288 fatwas in audio and text; 10,992 articles and leaflets; and more than 3,986 books in some 37 languages besides Arabic. 1 Its sermons include some by Egyptian shaykhs recorded while they were detained, and recordings sent in by visitors. 1 These are the site's own figures. The museum holds a number of its lessons in the Khutab and Durus explorer. 3
Today
The site is active at ar.islamway.net in several languages and has an article in the Arabic Wikipedia. 4
