From Sheikh Omar Abdelkafy's Tafsir lectures (episode 2)

The Sheikh advises that whoever tries to persuade another person should enter from the ground that person stands on, and he points back to what he said in the Friday lesson about Abu Sufyan 2. He says that the Prophet ﷺ approached them through the door of pride, and that when Adi ibn Hatim (may God be pleased with him) came the Prophet honored him greatly and he entered Islam 3. He relates that the chief of the Abd al-Qays in Bahrain, on hearing that the Messenger of God was coming, was not willing to meet him with the dust of travel, so he washed, perfumed himself and put on his clothes 3.

The Sheikh says that after the Prophet was commanded to warn his nearest kin (Qur'an 26:214), he went to his relatives, who were preparing for their yearly summer journey to Sham; among them were Abu Talib, Hamza, al-Abbas and his other uncles 4 5. He mentions that the Prophet found them busy preparing the journey and so did not raise the matter of the message with them; the Sheikh explains that the listener had not yet lent him his ear, and counts this as part of the Prophet's insight in calling to God 4 5.

From Sheikh Omar Abdelkafy's Tafsir lectures (episode 4)

The Sheikh recalls the hadith that God guiding a single man through you is better for you than red camels, or than the world and all it contains 6.

From Sheikh Omar Abdelkafy's Tafsir lectures (episode 9)

The Sheikh relates that Umar asked a man who had missed the prayer with them, and the man answered that he was ill and pointed to the place of the pain in his side and neck; Umar then placed his right hand on the man's side and his left on his neck and recited the Fatiha 7. He adds that the man then stood up as if released from a rope 8.

Biting and the liability for injury it causes (add)

In the lexicon, add is gripping a thing with the teeth and holding it. If a person bites another without right and a wound results, the biter must pay the damages for the wound, assessed as a just award by experts. If one man bites another's hand and the bitten man pulls it free so that the biter's front teeth fall out, most jurists hold that there is no liability, relying on a prophetic judgement in such a case; the Shafi'is limit this to a bitten man who chose the easiest means of release, and the preferred Maliki view requires compensation.
