Overview
Ibn Abd al-Hakam reports from Ibn Lahi'a, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib and Ibn Hubayra, that Hamdan and their allies chose to settle at Giza. Umar wrote to Amr: how could he accept his companions being scattered from him, with a river between them so that he could not know what might befall them? He told him to gather them to him, and if they refused, to build them a fortress from the Muslims' fay'. 1
