Summary
From prison Ibn Fadl Allah raised a petition for a man whose hand had been cut off over an allegedly forged rescript; when al-Nasir asked about the man and none could explain his case, they said 'ask Ahmad ibn Fadl Allah', who laid out the story in detail — whereupon the sultan ordered both freed, in Rabi' II 740 (October-November 1339), then summoned him and bound him to loyal counsel 1.
Details
Ahmad ibn Fadl Allah told the sultan the man's whole story; al-Nasir ordered both released and summoned him back into favour, binding him to sincere counsel — a return to grace after two years of dismissal and prison 1.
