Overview
Ahmad al-Qastallani, Maliki jurist, ascetic and exemplar, pupil of Shaykh Abu 'Abdallah al-Qurashi; he heard from 'Abdallah b. Buri, taught and gave fatwa in Egypt, then dwelt by the Haram at Mecca a while and — after his shaykh's death — married his shaykh's righteous, noble wife Umm Walad Qutb al-Din. 1
His account
He related that Medina's people suffered drought: they prayed for rain on their day and were not rained upon — then he made food for the weak and prayed with the residents of the Haram, and they were rained upon; he has a work gathering his shaykh al-Qurashi's words and karamat. 1
