Dar al-Nadwa

Dar al-Nadwa: Quraysh's assembly hall which Qusayy founded on the north side of the Sacred Mosque, where their grave affairs were decided.

Among Qusayy's merits is that he founded Dar al-Nadwa on the north side of the Ka'ba's mosque, opening its door onto the mosque; it was Quraysh's assembly, in which their grave affairs were decided ¹. This house held rank over Quraysh because it guaranteed unity of word and the fair settling of problems ².

In it they consulted on the grave matters that befell them, and married off their daughters ³. Dar al-Nadwa's presidency remained with Banu Abd al-Dar after the offices were divided ³.
