    Summary

'Izz al-Din Ibn al-Sa'igh, chief qadi of Damascus; he stayed with the qadi Kamal al-Din al-Tiflisi until he ranked among his noblest companions, taught at the Shamiyya, then held the trusteeship of the bayt al-mal and the judgeship of Syria; dismissed in early 677 he showed mettle, gallantry and standing for the right; restored to office in early 680, he was then tried in Rajab 682 — they produced against him a writ of about a hundred thousand dinars until God delivered him; he withdrew to his orchard until he died; when death came he gathered his family, made wudu', led them in prayer and said: say la ilaha illa Allah with me — and kept saying it with them until he died. 1

the Cave of Qasyun (Jibril's Cave)

The mosque raised inside the cave of Mount Qasyun by Abu al-Faraj Muhammad ibn Abd Allah ibn al-Mu'allim beginning in 370, after a dream in which Jibril bade him build a mosque where God's name would be remembered — he called it Jibril's Cave; a broad prayer-hall floored in white marble, its columns all marble, never empty of the pious at remembrance.
