Ghars al-Din Khalil al-Faradisi

Ghars al-Din Abu al-Qasim Khalil ibn Khalil al-Faradisi al-Salihi al-Hanbali. Ibn Tulun said: he memorised the Qur'an and then read al-Muharrar of al-Majd ibn Taymiyya. He took knowledge from al-Nizam ibn Muflih, al-Sharaf ibn Zayd and Shaykh Safi al-Din, and he stayed close to Judge Nasir al-Din ibn Zurayq, from whom he took a great deal 1.

He then devoted himself to giving testimony and to administering the endowments of the madrasa of Abu Umar and others. He gave Ibn Tulun a licence to transmit from him, and scholars wrote down his reports. He died in the year 904 while held in the prison of Qartbay al-Ahmar, the chief amir of Damascus 1.
