Ethics and characterThe poor and the worker
Overview
Shaykh Shaltut holds religious brotherhood a bond of hearts uniting Muslims in direction and aim — the basis of social solidarity in which each bears his brother's burdens 12. Religious brotherhood outranks blood kinship when the two conflict; the Muslim shields his brother, neither wrongs him nor hands him over 34. He divides solidarity into a moral branch — counsel and guidance — and a material one of mutual aid in needs.
