Life in time
Summary
Muhammad Mursi Ahmad was assistant professor of pure mathematics at the Egyptian University, holding a PhD from the University of Edinburgh, as the title page of the Cairo edition of al-Khwarizmi's Book of al-Jabr and al-Muqabala states. 1
The edition of al-Khwarizmi
With Ali Mustafa Mosharafa he introduced and annotated al-Khwarizmi's book, issued by the Faculty of Science of the Egyptian University in 1939; the two signed the preface on 26 September 1937. 2 3 The editors say they focused on what was essential in the manuscript, did not count its marginal glosses as part of the book because they were explanations added in teaching, and corrected obvious copying errors without notice. 4 3
