Overview
The battle of Fakhkh is the battle in which al-Husayn ibn Ali (may God be pleased with him) ibn al-Hasan ibn al-Hasan ibn Ali (may God be pleased with him) ibn Abi Talib (may God be pleased with him) was killed (see al-Husayn, lord of Fakhkh), six miles from Mecca, on the day of Tarwiya, in the days of the caliph al-Hadi. 1
The survivors
Two of the killers' brothers survived, Musa and Yahya, the sons of Abd Allah. Yahya went to the Daylam seeking protection, but the lord of the Daylam sold him to an agent of al-Rashid for a hundred thousand dirhams, and he was killed. 1
In a report that al-Mas'udi relates, he was thrown into a pool with starved beasts, which refrained from eating him, so a pillar of lime and stone was built over him while he was still alive. 1
It needs an additional source: the date of the battle is not stated in the data entry.
