Overview

In 484 AH the Franks took the whole island of Sicily, according to al-Suyuti in "History of the Caliphs". He says the Muslims first conquered it after the year 200, and that the Aghlabids ruled it for a long time until the Fatimid al-Mahdi took the Maghrib. 2

The date here rests on this book alone, and the Gregorian conversion is derived. An additional source is needed.
