كسر جلال الدين الخوارزمي سنة 627هـ

In 627 the Syrians and their allies combined against the Khwarazmians; meeting Jalal al-Din in Ramadan they broke him, plundered his army, and he fled to Khilat among seven men — his army shredded, his champions slain — thence to Azerbaijan, suing al-Ashraf for peace in abasement. Abd al-Latif al-Baghdadi: 'God routed the Khwarazmians at the lightest cost, by an event beyond all reckoning — praise to Him who demolished that firm mountain in the blink of an eye' 1.

Overview
In Ramadan 627 AH the enemies of Jalal al-Din al-Khwarazmi broke his army, as Ibn al-Imad relates. 2
The account
The people of Syria and others feared the Khwarazmians, and agreed to make war on Jalal al-Din. They met him in Ramadan, defeated him and plundered his camp. He fled to Khilat with seven men, then to Azerbaijan. 2
The peace
Jalal al-Din sent to the king al-Ashraf asking for peace, and Khilat was given safety. Ibn al-Imad relays from al-Muwaffaq Abd al-Latif that the Khwarazmians were defeated with little provision. 2
