Overview
The Daysaniyya are the followers of Ibn Daysan, and according to Ibn al-Nadim they are one of the Chaldean Tanwiyya sects. 2
They differed on how light was mixed with darkness, in two groups. The first held that the light mixed with the darkness by its own choice, in order to improve it; when it had entered and wished to leave, it was prevented. The second held that the light wanted to lift the darkness off itself when it sensed its harshness and foulness, and so it became entangled with it against its will. 3
Ibn Daysan wrote "The Book of Light and Darkness", "The Spirituality of Truth", and "The Moving and the Inert". 3
