Overview

The first withdrawn camp of the Kharijites, named after Harura', a village of Kufa where they gathered. 2

Gathering at Harura'

Twelve thousand, from the reciters and others, broke away from Ali after the document of arbitration. They placed over them Shabib ibn Ri'i al-Tamimi, and over their prayers Abd Allah ibn al-Kawwa al-Yashkuri. 2

Ali's debate

Ali went out to them and debated with them, and they entered Kufa. As they called out to him while he was on the pulpit, "You were distressed by the trial and accepted the arbitration; there is no judgement but God's", he answered them, "I await God's judgement concerning you." 2
