Overview
The Jarawa are of the Zanata, the people of the soothsaying queen who ruled among the Berbers. They gave her their allegiance and fought under her banner for the people of the Maghrib, until Hassan ibn al-Nu'man defeated them and killed her, according to Ibn Khaldun. 1
Afterwards
Hammad ibn Buluggin moved them from the Maghrib and settled them in the city of al-Qal'a, which he laid out. They became part of the strength and people of his state. 2
