Overview

Dilf ibn Abi Dulaf ibn al-Qasim ibn Isa al-Ijli, whose story appears in al-Mas'udi's "Meadows of Gold". 2

What al-Mas'udi reports

Al-Mas'udi reports that he would disparage Ali ibn Abi Talib, and that his father was a Shi'i. He also reports that Abu Dulaf claimed that Dilf had been born to a slave-girl with whom he had relations while she was menstruating. 2

After his father's death, he was told that he had seen him in a dream, naked in a room with traces of fire and ash, saying that when we die we are raised and questioned afterwards about everything. 2

This account is found in the data only in al-Mas'udi; an additional source is needed.
