Al-Qa'im's testament
When al-Qa'im was dying, he summoned him and told him that he had employed Ibn Ayyub, Ibn al-Maslama, Ibn Darsa and Ibn Jahir in his days. He did not see anyone more fit for the state than Ibn Jahir and his sons. 1
He was among the witnesses to the appointment of al-Muqtadi as heir on the night of Sunday, the ninth of Sha'ban 467 AH. 1
He was also the one who summoned the Sharif Abu Ja'far to reconcile the Ash'ari in the strife of 469 AH. 2
