Overview

Al-Hasan ibn Ahmad al-A'sham, a commander of the Qarmatians in al-Ahsa. Ibn al-Athir in "Al-Kamil" reports that he set out in 363 AH with their vanguard from al-Ahsa to the lands of Egypt and besieged it. 2

The reply to al-Mu'izz

Al-Mu'izz li-Din Allah wrote to him a letter in which he mentioned his lineage and the lineage of his family, and said that the call was one, and made him promises and threats. Al-Hasan wrote beneath the letter a reply to the effect that: "You have little to show and much to frighten with; we are marching towards you on its track." Then he marched until he camped before Egypt. 2
