Overview
The judge Abu Muhammad al-Hasan ibn Ahmad, known as al-Haddad al-Basri, a Shafi'i jurist. Al-Shirazi in "Tabaqat al-Fuqaha" says that it is not known with whom he studied or when he died, and that he saw a book of his on the etiquette of judgeship which shows great merit. 1
He is not Ibn al-Haddad al-Misri; the two are different persons.
