Overview
Abu al-Husayn Ahmad ibn Yahya ibn Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Rawandi, from the people of Marw al-Rudh. 1
As Ibn al-Nadim describes him
Ibn al-Nadim relays from Abu al-Qasim al-Balkhi that in his time no one was more skilful than he in kalam. At the beginning of his life his conduct was good, then it changed for reasons that came upon him, and according to this report his learning exceeded his judgement. Ibn al-Nadim reports from a group of people that he repented at his death and showed remorse. 1
His books
Ibn al-Nadim lists books of his, some of which were refuted, among them al-Qadib al-Dhahab (The Golden Rod), al-Farand and al-Marjan. He says that some of his books were written for Abu Isa ibn Lawi, a Jewish man from Ahwaz, and that he had other books on the subject of righteousness, among them al-Imama (The Imamate) and Khalq al-Qur'an (The Createdness of the Qur'an). 2
The judgement on his thought in this page is relayed from the source and attributed to it. Other positions need an additional source.
