Overview

Abu Nasr Ahmad ibn Hilal al-Bakili ibn Wasif, whom Ibn al-Nadim counts among the scholars of hadith. 2

As Ibn al-Nadim relates

Ibn al-Nadim says that he was the first to open the matter of spiritual resolve (al-'aza'im) in Islam, and that he had wonderful acts and tested endings. 2

His books, according to Ibn al-Nadim, include al-Rooh al-Mutalashiya (The Dissolving Spirit), al-Mafakhir fi al-A'mal (Boasts in Deeds), and Tafsir ma Qalathu al-Shayatin li-Sulayman ibn Dawud wa ma Ukhidha 'Alayhim min al-'Uhud (Commentary on what the devils said to Solomon son of David and the covenants taken from them). 2
