Overview

Ibrahim ibn Musa ibn Ja'far, an Alid who led the pilgrimage with the people in 202 AH by seizure, not by appointment from a caliph. Al-Mas'udi says that he was the first Alid to hold the pilgrimage for the people in Islam. 2

What al-Mas'udi relates

Al-Mas'udi says that he was among those who spread corruption in the land, and that he killed the companions of Ibrahim ibn Ubaydallah al-Hajbi, Yazid ibn Muhammad ibn Hanzala al-Makhzumi, and others among the people of worship in the Sacred Mosque. This is al-Mas'udi's description, not the judgement of the museum. 2

Another view of the event has not yet been recorded. It needs an additional source.
