Overview
Abu Ishaq Ibrahim ibn Nawbakht, one of the early Shi'i theologians, and author of the book al-Yaqut (The Ruby). 2
The book al-Yaqut
Ahmad Amin, in Duha al-Islam, says that he read the book in a rare manuscript that his friend Abu Abdallah al-Zanjani had given him as a gift. He judges it to resemble the books of the Mu'tazili principles except in a few questions, among them the imamate, the imamate of Ali, and the imamate of the eleven after him. He takes this as evidence that the principles of the Shi'a and the Mu'tazila met. This is Ahmad Amin's view. 2
The data do not record his year of death. It needs an additional source.
