Overview
Jariya ibn Qudama al-Sa'di al-Tamimi, one of the commanders of Ali ibn Abi Talib (may God be pleased with him). 2
In pursuit of Busr
Ali sent him with two thousand men, together with Wahb ibn Mas'ud with two thousand, in pursuit of Busr ibn Abi Artat, who had plundered the Hijaz and Yemen in 40 AH. Busr fled, and Jariya followed him to Mecca, where he took the oath of allegiance from its people. 2
In Medina
He came to Medina while Abu Hurayra was leading the people in prayer, and Abu Hurayra fled from him. Jariya said: "If I found Abu Sanwar, I would kill him." When news of Ali's death reached them, the people of Medina gave their oath to al-Hasan ibn Ali (may God be pleased with him). 2
