The author's assessment
Al-Salabi considers him the founder of the Koprulu family, which rose to serve the state in the time of Sultan Mehmed IV, when Europe formed the Holy League of Austria, Poland, Venice, the Knights of Malta, the Pope and Russia to stand against the Islamic advance. He says that he restored the state's prestige, helped repel the attacks of enemies and strengthened the state, and that his son Ahmed Koprulu followed his way after him. 2
