Overview

Muhammad ibn Yaqut, a military commander in Baghdad. When news reached al-Muqtadir of Mu'nis's march in 320 AH, he sent him with the stone-faced pages (al-ghilman al-hajariyya) to al-Mashhad. As they drew near, his troops slipped away and fled to Baghdad. He went back to Akbara, then they returned to Baghdad. He advised al-Muqtadir to meet the enemy. 2

After Mu'nis's arrest

Ibn al-Athir says that he took the office of chamberlain after the arrest of Mu'nis. He saw the dislike of Tarif al-Subki and the pages for him, so he went into hiding and fled to his father in Fars. Al-Qahir wrote to him, reproaching him for his haste in fleeing, and appointed him over the districts of Ahwaz. 3
