Overview

Nazuk, chief of police of Baghdad in the days of al-Muqtadir 2.

The killing of Ibn al-Furat

al-Muqtadir ordered him to bring al-Muhassin, son of Ibn al-Furat, out of his hiding place, and he seized him. Together with Mu'nis and Harun ibn Gharib, he advised killing Ibn al-Furat and his son, and both were killed in 312 AH 2.

Guarding the caliph

Ibn al-Athir reports that he, together with the police, took charge of guarding the caliph during the caliphate of al-Qahir. He ordered the foot soldiers of the al-Musafiyya to take down their tents from the caliph's palace. This weighed heavily on them, and they were a cause of al-Muqtadir's return in 317 AH 3.
