Overview

Qatn ibn Qabisa ibn Mukhariq al-Hilali. According to al-Baladhuri, al-Hajjaj appointed him over Fars and Kerman. 1

He came to a river that his companions could not cross, and said: "Whoever crosses gets a thousand dirhams." They crossed, and he fulfilled his promise to them. It was the first day on which the reward was so called. His father Qabisa was among the Companions of the Messenger of God ﷺ. 1
