Overview

Sasa'a ibn Suhan al-Abdi, an orator from Abd al-Qays, one of the close companions of Ali. Mu'awiya described him as one of the arrows of Ali and one of the orators of the Arabs 1.

Some of his reports

Ali sent him with his letter to Mu'awiya, and he debated with him about the genealogies of Mudar, Rabi'a and Abd al-Qays. Ibn Abbas asked him about nobility, manliness, the wise man and the horseman, and he answered with the most comprehensive things that had been said on them, to the point that Ibn Abbas told him he was a scholar of the Arabs' learning 1.

The report says that he took part with Abu Ayyub al-Ansari in killing Abd Allah ibn Wahb al-Rasibi on the day of al-Nahrawan 1.
