Overview
Shabib ibn Bajra, a man of the Ashja' and among its bravest. al-Tabari reports that Ibn Muljam came to him while preparing the assassination of Ali 1.
In al-Mas'udi
Ibn Muljam offered him help in killing Ali. At first he was appalled and reminded him of his service to Islam, then Ibn Muljam persuaded him. He struck that day, and his blow fell on the threshold of the door. He fled to his camp, and his cousin Abd Allah ibn Najda killed him 2.
