Overview

Yazid al-Raqqashi, a transmitter and boon-companion whose name appears in al-Mas'udi. One night he conversed with Abu al-Abbas, who told him to relate the most charming thing he had heard, and he chose a report about the Banu Hashim 1.

The story

He told the story of a man of the Tanukh who came down among the Banu Amir ibn Sa'sa'a. A slave-girl of the tribe satirised him with a satire of every tribe he claimed kinship with, until he admitted that he was of the Tanukh. al-Buhlul ibn al-Abbas transmitted it from al-Haytham ibn Adi 1.
