Overview

Al-Ahri: a revered idol-temple in the land of India, which people visit from distant lands, according to al-Mas'udi. 1

Al-Mas'udi's description

Around it is a town set aside for it, and around that are a thousand chambers in which there are slave-women whose only task is to honour this idol, as al-Mas'udi relates. 1

An additional source is needed: its location today.
