Overview

al-Manjashaniyya: a place six miles from Basra. The source reports that Qays ibn Mas'ud al-Shaybani, who was over al-Tuff on behalf of Kisra, took it as his, and that it was worked by a man called Manjashan, after whom it was named. Above it is the meadow of horses where his horses used to graze. 1
