Overview
al-Muallaqa: a ruined city in Ifriqiya on the sea coast, about sixteen miles from Tunis. It is said that it belonged to the daughter of the king who seized every ship by force. 2
It has great remains, large stones, deep pits and deep cisterns. Among its wonders is what al-Umari relates: that its stones are carried away to what is near it, that their supply never runs out, and that no shortage in their abundance appears. 2
