Overview
al-Salsal: a water in the land of Judham. Ibn Ishaq says that when Amr ibn al-As was in charge of it he was afraid, so he sent to the Prophet ﷺ asking for reinforcements. The expedition of Dhat al-Salasil was named after this water. 1
Markers of weakness and doubt
- The position of the water is not specified in the text, and it has no coordinates; the naming of the expedition by sources other than Ibn Ishaq is explained differently (needs_source).
