Overview

Badghis: a mountainous region of Khurasan. It entered the great peace of Herat with Ibn Amir, together with Bushanj. Ibn Amir wrote to it a letter ordering it to fear God, to counsel the Muslims, to improve its lands, and to divide the poll-tax justly. Whoever withholds what is due from him has neither covenant nor protection, according to the text of al-Baladhuri. 1
