Hammam A'yan
حمام أعين
Bath at Kufa named for A'yan, Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas's mawla — the man al-Hajjaj sent to Abdallah ibn al-Jarud al-Abdi (may God be pleased with him) of Rustuqubadh during his defection, who answered the message 'were you not a messenger I'd kill you'; before him it belonged to Jabir, brother of the Hayyan al-A'sha mentioned — owner of Hira's Musannat Jabir — bought from his heirs; Uthman granted Khalid ibn Urfuta land by Hammam A'yan.

Overview
The Bath of Ayan is a bath in Kufa, named after Ayan, a client of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas. It is the one that al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf sent to Abd Allah ibn al-Jarud al-Abdi when he rebelled. The bath had belonged before to a worshipper called Jabir, and Ayan bought it from his heirs. According to al-Baladhuri, Uthman granted Khalid ibn Arfata land beside the bath. 1 2
The place appears in Kufa.
