Overview
The Fortress of Mansur is one of the frontier posts. It is named after Mansur ibn Jawna ibn al-Harith al-Amiri al-Qaysi, who was in charge of building and repairing it. 1
Mansur stayed in it in the days of Marwan ibn Muhammad with a dense force of troops from Syria and al-Jazira, to repel the enemy. Al-Rashid built it and stocked it with troops in the caliphate of al-Mahdi, according to "Futuh al-Buldan". 1
