Overview

Isbijab is a fortress at the far end of al-Shash. According to al-Baladhuri it was conquered in ancient times, then the Turks overcame it together with some people of al-Shash. Then Nuh ibn Asad conquered it in the caliphate of al-Mu'tasim, and built around it a wall enclosing the vineyards and farms of its people. 1
